Male runner raped in Crawley alleyway

A man was raped while out running in Crawley.

A police spokesman said the 34-year-old local man was raped in an alleyway off Waterlea, Furnace Green at about 6.45am on August 14.

The attacker ran off.

He added: “The victim was badly shaken but the incident was not reported to the police until Friday September 18.

“The suspect is described as white, about 6ft, wearing a grey hooded top and white trainers.”

Detective Sergeant Peter Yarrow said; “If you were in the Furnace Green area early that Friday morning August 14, between about 6.30am and 7am, whether jogging, walking the dog, or on your way to work, and saw anything suspicious, or if you have any other information, please contact us via [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 856 of 18/09.

“You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
