Man charged with preventing lawful burial of Mark Manning

A man has been charged with preventing the lawful burial of Mark Manning.

Police said Stewart Robertson, 50, of St Aubyns Road in Portslade, will appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (May 27).

According to police, human remains, which are unidentified at this stage, but believed to be those of Mark, were discovered on land in Hampshire Hill near Slaugham on Wednesday (May 25).

Mark, 54, of Brighton Road in Lancing, was last seen on April 19 2014, before his family reported him missing on April 22. Officers launched a murder investigation in June 2014.

Colin Gale, 39, of Offington Lane, Worthing, was charged with the murder of Mark Manning in January this year. He is due to stand trial on 4 July at Lewes Crown Court.
