Man suffers potentially ‘life-threatening’ injuries after skull is fractured in Crawley attack


A man may have life-threatening injuries after a serious Crawley assault, police have said.

The 43-year-old victim suffered a fractured skull after he was punched in the face and knocked to the ground during an argument in Borage Close, Broadfield, on Saturday (June 27).

He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

A police spokesman today (Wednesday July 1) said the man had potentially life-threatening injuries.

Sussex Police has appealed for witnesses.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 10pm.

The attacker was described as a man in his early 20s, 5’10’’, skinny but muscular build, with cropped blond or light brown hair.

He was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

A spokesman said: “Anyone who saw what happened, who can name the assailant or who may have other information is asked to email or phone 101, quoting serial 1643 of 27/6.

“Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111”
