A man was banned from flying at Gatwick Airport after he told check-in staff he had a gun in his bag.

Gatwick Police sergeant Darren Taylor tweeted: “Why oh why do some people still think it is remotely funny to tell check in staff that they have a gun in the bag... #really

“Male who thinks he is a stand up comedian tells check in staff he has a gun (twice)... WRONG... no flight and banned from flying with them”
