Nine arrests after drug raids in Crawley and Mid Sussex

Nine people have been arrested after thousands of pounds worth of drugs were found across Crawley and Haywards Heath, police have said.

Police said five Misuse of Drugs Act warrants were issued across both towns on Friday, July 15.

Around £8000 in cash was seized as well as thousands of pounds worth of class A and B drugs.

The nine arrests, all made on the same day, were made for a variety of reasons including drugs possession and possession with intent to supply, police said.

Sergeant Anthony Cheeseman, who led the operation, said: “Once again we are sending a message that drug usage and dealing will not be tolerated in Crawley.

“I’m really pleased with Friday’s operation and we will continue to target individuals who choose to negatively impact our streets.”

Crawley Police launched its crackdown on drugs, named Operation Enforcer, on March 14.
