An OAP accused of trying to molest a young child in a supermarket is due to plead to the charge next month.
Hugh Unwin, 75, of Garden Walk, Crawley, appeared in Lewes Crown Court today, by video link from Lewes Prison.
Prosecutor Sarah Lindop said Unwin, who is accused of trying to touch the girl while she was on a shopping trip with her mother in Crawley, will be ready to plead once legal papers have been served.
Presuming he pleads not guilty, she said the court should expect a three to four day trial.
Judge Simon Coltart told Unwin: “There will be a plea and case management hearing on the 24th of November, when the indictment will be put to you, and the trial will be fixed for 22nd of February next year.
“In the meantime, you will be remanded in custody.”
