Police arrest three males in Haywards Heath after car found full of meat

Police have arrested three males in Haywards Heath after a car was found with more than 20 packets of allegedly stolen meat.

After stopping and searching the car in Haywards Heath police discovered a large number of packaged steaks in the vehicle.

Inspector Darren Taylor of Mid Sussex Police said: “Let’s make no bones about it. [It was] a meaty job indeed!

“Nice bit of policing from the team this afternoon. Three in custody and a load of alleged stolen goods from various supermarkets and shops, including cosmetics and meat recovered from a vehicle.”

Pictured shared by Inspector Taylor show officers discovered beef sirloin and fillet steaks in the rare find.

He added that officers are keen to meat with anyone who might have information about the alleged thefts.

Inspector Taylor said police will be looking at CCTV but are want to hear from anyone who saw three people ‘acting suspiciously’ in supermarkets.
