Questions are now being invited for Katy Bourne, and the Panel. The Panel comprises councillors from all 15 local authorities across Sussex, plus two independent members, and carries out the role of scrutinising the actions and decisions of the Commissioner.

At the annual meeting on Friday, June 27, the Panel will scrutinise the Commissioner’s Annual Report and consider her role in reviewing the performance of Sussex Police’s “101” call-handling arrangements. This follows shortcomings that were identified, prompted by a previous question from a member of the public.

West Sussex County Councillor Brad Watson OBE, Panel Chairman, said: “The Annual Meeting is an excellent chance for members of the public to put their questions in person to the Commissioner or to the Panel.

“We ask only to have notice and sight of the questions by noon of the previous day, to ensure the necessary administrative arrangements are in place.

“People who want to ask a question but cannot make it to the meeting can still submit a question and it will be asked by the Panel Chairman, with the answer recorded in the official minutes of the meeting.”

More details about the meeting, the work of the Panel, and a link to the live website (on the day of the meeting) can be found on the Police and Crime Panel’s homepage.
