Six arrested after Crawley drugs raids


Police have arrested six people after Crawley drugs raids.

A police spokesman said drugs warrants were executed in Caffins Close, Northgate, Woodwards, Broadfield, and Calvin Walk, Bewbush on Friday evening (November 6) and at two properties in Waterside Close, Bewbush on Saturday.

Four people were arrested, all from Crawley. A 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested of suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, cocaine.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and conspiracy to supply a class A drug. A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

They have all been bailed until March 2016.

A significant amount of cocaine and cash was seized during the warrants and investigations are continuing.

On October 10 a 53-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin when he was stopped on Crawley Road, Horsham. He has been bailed until December 17.

On October 30 there was a warrant executed at Lavington Close, Ifield and a 19-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis. He has been bailed until January 29.

Inspector Sue Neilson, said: “These arrests are just one example of the work Sussex Police do to keep drugs off the streets of Crawley.

“we aim to disrupt drugs supply in the town and I would like to continue to urge that if anyone sees any suspicious activity which may be linked to drug supply please contact us via or phone us on 101.”
