Inspector Darren Taylor of Mid Sussex Police said officers were sent to Clair Hall after reports of ‘youths on bicycles being a nuisance and acting in an anti social manner towards staff’ around 3pm this afternoon (January 29).

He added: “If anybody is being antisocial down there and is causing grief towards these people that are working tirelessly – we will deal with them robustly.”

He said: “We work really closely with Clair Hall. We’re constantly popping [down] and saying hello to them and making sure they’re alright.

“We want to see everybody in Mid Sussex get down there and have the jabs.”

Inspector Taylor pledged to take any youths found misbehaving or breaching lockdown home to their parents. He slammed the behaviour of the youths as ‘stupid’. He added: “ The staff there are working tirelessly to administer vaccines and don’t need this!”

But he said those not following the rules are in the minority and praised Mid Sussex residents’ response to the pandemic.
