Thieves target bicycles in Horsham break-ins

Bicycles are being targeted in a series of break-ins in Horsham, police said.

In an alert, officers revealed two garages were stolen from in Cotswold Court in the town.

The first theft, in which two mountain bikes were stolen, happened between 10pm on July 22 and 6pm July 23, and the second saw two bicycles stolen between July 17 and 23.

A garage was also entered in Hurst Court and two bicycles were stolen between 9pm on July 23 and 8am July 24. Nine other garages in the same location were also entered, police said.

In Sycamore Avenue several garages were entered between 6pm on July 25 and 5.45am on July 26, a police spokesman added. A bicycle was stolen when a garage was entered in The Pines between 11am on July 25 and 7.30am on July 26.

Police said: “There have been numerous thefts from garages and we are urging everyone who has a garage to ensure they are locked with a strong padlock.

“At this time it appears pedal cycles are being targeted.”
