A driver who left the scene of a three car crash which saw a woman taken to hospital has not been traced by police.
Sussex Police appealed for witnesses following the collision involving a blue Volkswagen Passat, black Peugeot 307 and silver Mazda 2 in Balcombe Road, near Horley, at 5.05pm on Wednesday (August 26).
The 28-year-old Crawley man who was driving the Volkswagen was unhurt.
A police spokesman this afternoon (Friday August 28) said: “The Volkswagen driver was believed to have been picked up by another motorist. He has not yet been traced.”
A 22-year-old Horley woman who was driving the Mazda suffered shock and was injured by broken glass was taken to East Surrey Hospital.
Her father has appealed for witnesses and said the man left the scene in another vehicle south down Balcombe Road, towards the Shipley Bridge roundabout.
The Peugeot driver, a 66-year-old Horley woman, suffered shock.
The road was closed near the Jai Jo restaurant while the scene was being cleared.
Witnesses were asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 1074 of 26/08.
