'What do we have to do?' Chichester shop owner asks after break-in

A Chichester business owner has described owning a shop in city as a 'nightmare' following a burglary.

My Phone in East Street was broken into in the early hours of this morning and took speakers, headphones and other stock from the window.

This is not the first time My Phone has been targeted and owner Khurram Akbar said owning a business in the city is fast becoming 'nightmare'.

"It's not the first time. It's the fourth or fifth time now," Mr Akbar said, "It's really bad. I don't know what's going on in Chichester — It's like a nightmare to have a business in Chichester.

"It's a main street and this is happening. You can imagine what more they can do.

"What do we have to do? You can see what is going on.

"I have no idea what is going on in this town when this town was the best town a few years before, from two years it is getting worse and worse and worse and nobody is taking action against it."

Three other businesses were targeted by thieves last week including Good News newsagents in St Martin's Street, Lush in East Street and Real Eating Company in North Street. Police are not currently linking them.
