Cyclist hurt in hit and run at Rye

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was involved in a collision in which the driver didn’t stop.

At 12.45pm on Thursday (6 March) the victim was cycling with two friends in Military Road, Rye, towards Kent when one of the cyclists was hit by a silver 4x4.

The 45-year-old victim suffered a fractured pelvis, a fractured elbow and broken fingers. He also has cuts and bruises.

Detective Sergeant Tony Webb said: “We urgently need to speak to the driver about what happened. If you saw the incident or recognise the description of the car involved please contact us.”
