A day nursery for 98 children aged two to five has retained its ‘Good’ Ofsted rating.
The inspectorate said staff at Daisychain Day Nursery, Three Bridges Road, Three Bridges, had good relationships with children and parents.
Veronica Sullivan, 53, the manager, said: “I’m pleased that the report highlights some of the positive things that the staff work to and the fact that the children have got a quality environment to come to.”
The nursery, which was extended and refurbished last summer, was inspected on December 22. It is owned by Salolach Childcare and employs 12 staff.
Ofsted published the report by Hannah Barter on January 16. It stated: “Staff have good relationships with children and have a secure knowledge and understanding of their individual needs.
“The environment is well organised and resourced.
“Staff plan for and assess children’s development effectively. Staff have secure relationships with parents.”
Children settled quickly, were motivated to learn and made good progress all round as a result.
It was not rated ‘Outstanding’ because staff did not give children enough time to respond to questions and enough explanation of requests on behaviour.
