Digital switchover underway across West Sussex

IT is time to adjust your TV sets as the digital switchover began today as some BBC analogue signals are turned off across West Sussex.

For viewers in digital blackspots the digital signal will be boosted, giving them BBC Freeview channels, while also improving picture quality for many existing viewers.

Homes already watching Freeview will need to retune their boxes to regain BBC services missing this morning. ITV and Channels 4 and 5 will switch over on Wednesday March 14.

Bill Taylor, Regional Manager for Digital UK, said: “This is great news for West Sussex, as many people are receiving new channels for the first time.

“Those viewers who haven’t switched to digital should prepare for 14 March, when the last analogue channels will be permanently switched off. Our advice is: get ready now – don’t leave it until the last minute.”

Digital UK have a switchover roadshow running in the Carfax in Horsham Town Centre today and tomorrow, and an advice point at St Ann’s Hill’s Midhurst Resource Centre. For those already on the Switchover Help Scheme problems can be reported on 0800 4085900.
