Drink-driver given three year ban after being caught speeding at 100mph n

A man who was caught driving at more than 100mph has been given a three year ban from the roads.

Paul Morris, of Alsom Avenue, Worcester Park, Surrey, was caught speeding at 101mph on the M23 northbound near Pease Pottage on June 21.

Police said officers pulled over his BMW 320d at 11.45am and found Morris had 52 millilitres of alcohol per 100 millilitres in his breath, the legal limit is 35.

They added the 28-year-old had previously served a 20-month ban for drink-driving imposed in 2007.

Morris pleaded guilty to drink-driving and speeding when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on July 6.

As well as being banned from driving he was also fined £665 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
