PUB QUIZ: The next quiz in the King's Head will be on Thursday November 17 at 7.45pm. The proceeds raised will go towards this year's Christmas lights in the village.

PRESERVATION SOCIETY: East Hoathly and District Preservation Society annual Social Evening. Wow, this is going to be good. There will be top quality nibbles, a donations bar serving soft drinks, beers and wines selected by our discerning committee, a locally shot video of events past, an artist’s impressions of what the village and countryside might look like in a few years’ time, games old and new with smashing prizes and a really easy quiz. This will take place on Friday 25th November 2016 at 7.30pm in East Hoathly Village Hall. Admission is free to members, visitors very welcome at £3. VILLAGE OF SANCTUARY: How does it feel. to leave everything behind and brave hundreds of miles to seek safety? To set up home in a strange country, knowing no-one, in an alien culture? You are invited to a unique event to meet some people who know first-hand and hear how they are making a contribution to their new homeland. A Taste of Syria lunch will be provided by three chefs from Hama and Damascus, now making Sussex their home. Then Alex Ntung, from Congo via Rwanda, will talk about his own odyssey and sign copies of his book Not My Worst Day. The event will take place in East Hoathly Village Hall on Saturday November 26, at 12.30pm.
