Students at Central Sussex College, in Crawley, will meet Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls to discuss how the college is preparing them for the job market.

Mr Balls will be at the college this morning (Thursday December 11) to chat with plumbing, brickwork and joinery students.

The college runs a number of vocational courses and Mr Balls will join students in the classroom to try out the different lessons for himself.

He will be joined by Chris Oxlade, Labour’s parliamentary candidate in Crawley, for the visit.

Mr Oxlade said: “The college is a great local success story and I think they will have some really interesting ideas to share with Ed Balls.

“We need to do all we can to help young people get into good careers, Labour’s Jobs Guarantee is one way to do that but also we have to listen to students and teaching staff to ensure we create the best opportunities.”
