Crawley Town winger Gwion Edwards has revealed he and his teammates are full of confidence after their recent run.

An 86th-minute Simon Walton penalty saw them edge out York 1-0 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Saturday for their third straight home win in League Two.

It was their fourth win from their last five matches which equates to by far their best run of the new campaign since relegation from League One.

Edwards said: “We have got a bit of good form going on now. It’s always good to win your home games and I think we are making it tough for teams to come here now. We are full of confidence so hopefully we can build on this.

“It was a new squad and has taken us time to get to know the way we play. We have got a good bond, we have gone away from home and won and are winning our home games as well.

“Confidence is key. It was a bit scrappy and things did not go our way but we have ended up with the three points, sometimes you get days like that.

“It’s good we have come away with the three points and it shows if we do get difficult games, we can come away with a win.

“It’s training everyday, working hard, concentrating on the team shape and turning up on the pitch, the last two home games we haven’t started well but turned it around.

“Everyone is fighting for a win and we have shown that. It wasn’t a great game, but we have kept on fighting and got the win.”
