Eight fire engines sent to Pease Pottage house blaze

A fire has broken out at a house in Pease Pottage.

Eight fire engines have been sent to the incident in Buchan Hill, near Cottesmore Golf Club.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire started in the roof.

A spokesman said: “It is a two-storey timber-built house, therefore the fire has gone up so fast and it is unpredictable.

“We were alerted to the fire at 8am and were told there was smoke issuing from the roof.

“At the moment we have eight fire engines and a water carrier there, along with an aerial ladder platform.

“Crews are using three hose reel jets.

“Everyone is out of the house. There are no reports of any injuries.”
