Crawley’s Labour candidate Chris Oxlade has spoken of his pride at having run a “positive” General Election campaign.
As the national picture predicts a Conservative win, there have been few smiles on Labour faces at K2.
Chris arrived at the leisure centre several hours after his Conservative opponent Henry Smith.
He said: “I’m just eagerly waiting for the result.
“It’s been really positive, we’ve been campaigning hard and have spoken to thousands of people.”
Among the issues Chris said were raised on the doorsteps were concerns about cuts to the county’s fire service and the funding of education.
The result is expected shortly after 4am.
