The polls are open for what should be a close-fought battle for control of Crawley Borough Council.

Twelve of the 37 seats on the council are up for grabs, with new councillors guaranteed in Gossops Green, Ifield, Langley Green, Maidenbower, Pound Hill North and Tilgate after a number of encumbants either chose to step down or were deselected.

Currently the council is divided 21-16 in favour of Labour so competition for the six seats which will decide who has control will be fierce.
