Emergency services respond to ongoing Crawley blaze

Emergency services have been scrambled to an ongoing house fire in Crawley this evening (Thursday, May 13).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that six appliances had been called to tackled the blaze in Medway Road at 6.36pm.

The response included two pumps from Crawley one from Horsham, two from Surrey and that one aerial ladder platform was in use.

Hasmukh Nayee, who witnessed the fire and lives nearby, said: "Just looking through the window I could see there were flames coming out of a nearby house. There was a lot of smoke and flames."
