Fair future fashion

Fancy a chance to look at the UK designers of tomorrow and pick up a recession-busting bargain - meanwhile supporting both local community and the environment?

The Fairtrade fashion show at Bexhill College on Friday evening looks like ticking a few hot topic boxes.

The show is the result of a collaboration between Bexhill's Fairtrade campaigners and talented students from Bexhill College textiles department which counts Stella McCartney as one of its alumni.

Fairtrade aims to promote justice and sustainable development at the heart of trade structures and practices, and works with businesses and community groups to improve the trading position of producer organisations and to deliver sustainable livelihoods for farmers and workers.

Twenty students will be showcasing the results of their hard work on the evening and there will be opportunity to talk to the Fairtrade team and purchase numerous globally sourced items.

The show takes place at Bexhill College refectory on Friday April 24 from 7.30pm. Ticket prices 5, 4 (concessions).
