Famous artist's studio in Bognor could become flats

More flats are being planned at an historic Bognor Regis site. KB Real Estate Management wants to change the use of Belmont Lodge from offices to 26 studio apartments and nine one-bed apartments.

The lodge’s converted stable was used by painter and poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti from October 1875 to July 1876.

Arun District Council granted plans in January 2015 to change the Belmont Street site from some 950sq m of offices to 13 two-bed apartments in spite of protests by councillors and residents, pictured, but the scheme has not gone ahead.

KB Real Estate Management has applied for prior approval from Arun to alter the mix of residential properties.
