Fire breaks out at Chichester industrial unit - 'Please avoid the area'

According to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, crews were called just after 8.15pm to a fire at a building in Stane Street.

Crews from Chichester, Bognor and Haywards Heath are currently in attendance.

"If you live in the area, please ensure your doors and windows are shut," a spokesman said.

"Please avoid the area."

The fire service said crews found the building well alight. It added that a drone is in operation at the site to give crews 'a better idea of the extent of the incident'.

Stane Street is closed from the Chichester Bypass roundabout to the entrance to the Household Waste Recycling Site.
