Fire crews responded to flooding affecting properties in Burgess Hill on Sunday (November 15).

Two fire engines were sent to the scene in Rolfe Drive.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “Joint Fire Control was alerted to reports of flooding affecting properties on Rolfe Drive in Burgess Hill at 11.04am on Sunday (November 15).

“Two crews from Burgess Hill Fire Station were mobilised to the scene, and upon arrival firefighters quickly got to work pumping the water out of the properties and into a nearby drain.

“Crews used three sets of pumping equipment and a polyboom to divert the water, as well as buckets and small gear.

“After liaising with the duty environment officer and utilities provider, the last crew booked away from the scene at 2.26pm.”
