Fire in Worthing chip shop

A FISH and chip shop had to call for help after its deep fat fryer went up in flames.

The shop in Dominion Buildings, Dominion Road, called Worthing firefighters yesterday (Thursday, November 12) at 4.30pm when one of its deep fat fryers got out of control.

The crew used special extinguishers to fight the fire including one CO2 extinguisher and a compressed air foam system.

The shop was due to reopen in the evening.
