Firefighters called to fire behind Crawley house

Firefighters were called to a fire behind a Crawley house.

Two Crawley crews left for the scene in Barry Close, Tilgate, at 10.49am on Saturday (July 4).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said fencing at the rear of the house was severely damaged by fire.

Smoke travelled into the house and a neighbouring house’s roof spaces.

The accidental fire was out by the time crews arrived.

Firefighters ventilated the properties and left at 11.23am.
