Folf club’s showcase evening

Arundel’s Willows Folk Club presents another great-value evening of music on Wednesday, May 11 with the latest in its series Showcase Special evenings, featuring two acts each performing a 40-minute set.

Club spokesman Chris Davis said: “The first musicians to be featured are vocal harmony duo Davis & Griffiths. These two have established themselves as one of the most popular acts around, not least for their regular performances at the Willows.

“The duo bring a fresh and inventive acoustic approach to classic songs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, with acoustic, harmony-driven takes on songs by The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Shadows and more, with great guitar and mandolin work underpinning their trademark vocals.

“The second 40-minute set of the evening features a rare solo set from a longstanding stalwart of the Brighton folk & acoustic scene, singer-guitarist Kevin Barber - best-known for his duo work with Mark Taylor (and more recently trio work with Mark and fiddle player Amy Reed).

Entrance is £2. The Willows Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle.
