A member of the public attempted to save Mr Hunt’s life after he fell in The Boulevard.

Two ambulance crews were sent to the scene, near the town hall, and the road was partially closed while CPR was carried out.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “There was already a first aider at the scene, who began CPR. We were grateful for that.

“Our crews continued CPR that proved unsuccessful, and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
