Fresh wave of break-ins near Littlehampton

POLICE have warned residents in Toddington to keep their homes and outbuildings locked following a spate of break-ins, on Wednesday evening (January 15).

All the incidents took place in Mill Lane at some point during the evening.

Thieves reportedly targeted a mobile home in the street, stealing a TV and DVD player.

Also on the same night, two allotment sheds in the road were broken into with thieves making off with a number of tools, including a strimmer.

PSCO Michelle Davies, of Arun’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “If you own an allotment in the locality please be mindful and ensure you have adequate security. If possible store any valuable items elsewhere.

“We do provide security marking and crime prevention advice. If you require this service please contact your local officer.”

This is the second theft-related warning to be issued by police in as many days.

It follows a rise in the number of outbuildings and sheds broken into, near Littlehampton’s town centre, in recent weeks.

If anyone sees a crime taking place, police are urging them to call 999 immediately.

Likewise, if anyone has any information about a crime that has already happened, including the thefts mentioned above, they should call police on the non-emergency number of 101.
