Fun-filled folk evening

The Willows Folk Club in Arundel is promising a foot-tapping, fun-filled evening of music when they welcome local favourites The Village Band as their special guests on Wednesday, April 27.

Club director Chris Davis said: “The Village Band are one of the south coast’s most popular Irish/folk bands, featuring an entertaining array of well-known chorus songs to set an audience singing and every foot in the room tapping.

“Performing songs such as The Black Velvet Band, The Galway Shawl and other well-known favourites (and some rather more obscure songs and tunes thrown in for good measure), it’s not difficult to see why the Village Band are so popular with audiences across Sussex and the south.

“Last year the band were a smash hit at the Willows’ St Patrick’s Night Special evening, and return to the club again for a full evening in their own right. Guitar, mandolin, whistles, flute, fiddle, bass and great vocals - a wonderful treat for an evening in spring!”

Entrance for the Village Band’s gig on Wednesday, April 27 is £4. The Willows Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 8pm (doors open 7.30pm) in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle.
