'˜Gas escape' emergency roadworks causing traffic chaos

Parsonage Road, Horsham, is expected to be shut until March 22 while contractors deal with a gas leak.

The road closure, which began on Monday March 14, has been causing serious traffic problems in the town centre, with lengthy delays for rush hour drivers.

West Sussex County Council records say workers are on the site, dealing with a gas escape.

They say traffic can take an alternative route via Kings Road, North Street, Hurst Road, North Parade, and Wimblehurst Road, and vice versa.

Residents should still be able to get access to their properties at all times.
