Goat killed in Ninfield

POLICE are hunting those responsible for killing and skinning a goat in a horrific daylight attack.

The goat's owner found the animal's skin when he went outside to feed it at Ninfield Road, Ninfield.

The rest of the goat has not yet been found.

Police say it was a human, not another animal, responsible for the sickening attack.

Inspector Heather Keating, of rural Rother police, said: "We have got no idea who's done this and if anyone has got any information about it, please contact us.

"It's an isolated incident, with no apparent motive."

The incident happened some time between 1.30-5.50pm on Wednesday August 22.

The RSPCA say although such attacks are uncommon, owners should still ensure their animals are secure.

Klare Kennett, of the RSPCA, said: "It's quite rare, I've not heard of that before.

"If anyone hears anything, they should contact police immediately."
