Gold medals galore at world games

STUDENTS from The Angmering School are celebrating after winning a haul of gold medals at The World Wheelchair and Amputee Games.

Twenty-four students from the school attended games at Stoke Mandeville Sports Stadium in Aylesbury, which ran from Wed-nesday until Sunday.

The students won 15 gold, 24 silver and eight bronze medals.

Outstanding performances came from Anna Williams with seven medals for swimming, Lizzie Williams who won six medals for swimming, Tyler Paul with a gold for table tennis, and Georgina Foschini and Anna Williams who won medals for fencing.

In the Boccia finals, Jack Simmonds and Gemma Mills took gold with Tom Grover, John Carey, Matt Berry and Jack Penticost claiming silver medals and Ryan Bowles winning bronze.
