Halloween warnings from Sussex Police

SUSSEX police are taking extra care to ensure this year's Halloween passes without too much mischief.

Shopkeepers are being advised to keep a watchful eye on who is buying eggs and flour, and asked to refuse sale to children who they suspect might be going trick or treating this Friday.

They have been told: "Incidents of aggressive trick or treaters, egg-throwing, criminal damage and the misuse of fireworks are all activities which cause fear and intimidation in our local neighbourhoods."

Posters are being offered to elderly people warning them to say "no" to trick or treaters, and to keep door chains on when answering calls.

As yet, they have not recommended what to do in the case of more supernatural activities.
