The school had been rated ‘good’ following its last inspection in 2014.

In her report, Ofsted inspector Lisa Moore said: “The outstanding leadership and clear vision of the headteacher has ensured the school has improved.

Parents, staff and pupils value his commitment to put pupils first, his refusal to accept second best and his open and approachable manner.”

The headteacher wasn’t the only one to receive praise in Ms Moore’s report. The children themselves were described as confident, resilient and self-motivated while their behaviour was marked as “outstanding”.

She noted the pride the pupils took in their achievements and added: “The very positive culture for learning across the school contributes to pupils’ high levels of self-esteem and confidence.”
