HELP TO BEAT THE DREADED WEED

STOP smoking specialists have organised free support groups across Sussex Downs and Weald Primary Care Trust's area to help people keep New Year resolutions to quit.

And the team is launching a publicity campaign, using beer mats at some local pubs.

Each group meets for an hour a week for six weeks following an initial information session.

January stop smoking groups start with an information session on:

January 9, 6pm, Peacehaven Clinic, Meridian Way; 6.30pm, Health Education Room, Orchard House (adjacent to Lewes Victoria Hospital), Nevill Road.

January 10, 2.30pm, X-ray department, Uckfield Community Hospital, Framfield Road; 6.30pm, Health Education Room, Uckfield Community Hospital.

January 11,10am, Peacehaven Clinic, Meridian Way.

19 January, 6.30pm, Newhaven Polyclinic, Church Hill.
