Homes plan would 'continue destruction of village'

A SCHEME that would continue to approve the 'destruction' of Felpham village looks set to get the green light, despite widespread opposition.

The plans for Admiralty Gardens would see the demolition of a two- storey house, extension and garage and the construction of a three storey building comprising seven two-bedroom and two one-bedroom flats. It has been recommended for conditional approval.

Existing access would be improved and the plans would also feature parking provision for nine cars and cycles. Admiralty Gardens is a residential cul-de-sac.

In a report to Arun District Council's development control committee, which was due to determine the application on Wednesday November 26, Felpham Village Conservation Society raised concerns about the proposal.

"To allow this development is to continue to approve the destruction of the Felpham village.
