The 21st Horley in Bloom competition has been launched with a new category - best street.
The Horley in Bloom Organising Committee is calling on schools, pubs, businesses and individuals to get creative with their green fingers and enter the contest.
Cllr Mike George, chairman of the committee: “This year we have introduced a “street” category. This could be an entire street/close or a group of neighbouring houses.
“There will as usual be awards for the best newcomer to the competition and for the entry deemed by the judges to be the best example of a Cottage Garden. We are delighted that Court Lodge Residents Association and Horley Flower Club are once again arranging their separate competitions as part of Horley in Bloom.”
Other categories include are best school, allotment, residential front and back gardens. The Horley in Bloom photographic competition will be also taking place.
Entry forms and details of the competitions are available from the council offices or the council’s website www.horleysurrey-tc.gov,uk.
Closing dates for entries are July 3 for In Bloom and July 24 for the photograph competition.
