The inaugural Horsham Festival - a celebration of the arts - will be held from July 9 - 17. At the core of the festival will be some well-known events, groups and venues such as the renowned Shipley Arts Festival, Horsham Artist’s Open Studios, the district council-organised Sparks in the Park and independent charity Horsham Garden Music Festival weekend.

The festival is the brainchild of Paul Bellringer, who first launched the Horsham Garden Music Festival in honour of his late wife Anne, a former chairman of Horsham in Bloom and leading light behind the creation of the Human Nature Garden in Horsham Park.

Horsham Music Circle, Horsham Folk Club and HAODs also plan events at the new festival, along with many more less locally well-known groups and individuals to be announced over the coming months.

Horsham Festival has been set up as a charitable organisation and already has over 20 local arts and events groups involved. It aims to give a focus to Horsham’s vibrant arts scene and to foster local youth development in the arts.

Festival chairman, Paul Bellringer said:“Bringing together so many parts of Horsham’s artistic community is a bold step and one that has tremendous potential. We can’t promise to be able to include everyone in the year-one programme but if any performing or creative groups, potential sponsors or venues who aren’t already involved and would like to be, please email us your details [email protected]
