Hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery stolen in Colgate burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen from a house in Tower Road, Colgate.

Sussex Police said officers were called after the home alarm was triggered at around 7.25pm on Wednesday (August 19). The owners were away on holiday.

Officers found the patio doors had been damaged and a stone statue had been thrown through a utility room window.

A number of items were taken including an 18 carat gold bracelet, a nine carat gold chain and an 18 carat gold wedding ring.

Priority Crime Team Investigator Thomas Carpenter said: “We have collated some photos of some of the items taken which we hope will help our investigation.

“If anyone has any information about the burglary, or perhaps has seen any of the items over the last few weeks, they can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.ukor call 101 quoting reference 1466 of 19/08.”
