“I don’t know how I would have coped without them,” said Natasha Penney, whose two year old son Sebastian - dubbed a superhero - was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer six months ago.

Natasha, 34, and her husband Luke, from Burgess Hill, received support from the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent - and now the couple are inviting the community to a family fun day to raise funds for the charity.

Natasha said: “Sebastian was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer at the age of 18 months.

“We instantly broke down and would have crumbled if it wasn’t for the support CLIC Sargent has given us. The charity has been amazing.

“They have offered us someone to talk to throughout, funding for car park and travel, houses to stay in so we can be together whilst Sebastian has treatment and even a break away in September.

“Without CLIC Sargent our lives would have been a lot harder these last few months. It is so tough to deal with everyday life and look after Sebastian to meet his daily needs.

“CLIC Sargent took away some of that stress by arranging visits, filling in forms, finding grants, organising psychologists. All things we would not know where to start with. Without this I don’t know how I would have coped.”

Natasha is inviting the local community to attend the Family Fun Day from 10 am – 2 pm on June 18 at the Kings Church, Victoria Road, Burgess Hill. Donations will be taken on the door with all funds raised divided between CLIC Sargent and The Royal Marsden Hospital.

The day will feature a host of entertainment from Dizzy Tilly, Jo Puppets, Tnt parties, Princess Parties, Debbie Hulbert, Enchanted Experiences and Animazing Animals. Guests will have the chance to win a string of top raffle prizes including a Eurocamp holiday, jewellery and tickets to local attractions such as Brighton Racecourse.
