Friday 11 July - This afternoon from 3.00pm onwards Icklesham C of E Primary School has its Summer Fair. Everybody is welcome to the event which is organised by The Friends Of Icklesham School to raise funds for our village school. There will be lots of stalls,books,toys,cakes etc plus traditional games like spin the wheel.

Sunday 13 July All Saints Parish Church 10.30 Parish Eucharist. The Preacher and Celebrant will be the Vicar of Icklesham Canon Robin Whitehead.

Saturday 19 July Church Market 11am - 2pm. The usual stalls of this popular monthly event,cakes,cards ,bric-a-brac,plants and refreshments. Any cakes or produce to be given for sale would be very much appreciated.

Sunday 13 4-6pm. Live Music in the Queen’s Head is Kenny Blake doing covers.

Tonight Friday 11 July at 7.30 in The Memorial Hall and tomorrow 12 July at 2.30 and 7.30 Ickesham Players and Acting Up At Rye have a joint production with a First World War theme. “Smile Boys - That’s The Style” is written and directed by Mel Smith. The first half is the story of a soldier starting with his initial enthusiasm and then follows with his experiences and personal changes. In contrast the second half is a Music Hall with the stars of the period performing the acts which made them famous. All this for just £6.50. Tickets are available from Icklesham Village Stores or from Nicky Harris 01424 812996. Next weekend the show is in the Rye Community Centre at the same times.

Rother collects bins twice this coming week. The dates for most of Icklesham are;

Monday 14 The Brown bins for all garden waste.

Thursday 17 The Black Bins for household rubbish.

Archery lessons by Tom Firth of The White Cottage, main Road have started. Dexter and Callum Martin thought they were fantastic. If you would like to be a Bowman contact Tom, one of Britain’s top archers, on 07460190298.

The big event next month is on Saturday 2 August - Icklesham Fete and Flower Show. The Fete has many attractions and raffle tickets will soon be on sale.If you would like to be involved in any way the Trust Committee would be delighted to hear from you. All proceeds will help to fund the Memorial Hall and the Pavilion. The Secretary is Sandra Stunt 3 Broad Street Cottages 01424 814401.

Icklesham Horticultural Society’s Flower Show schedules are available from 22 High Fords. It only costs £1 to join the Society and to enter a class a mere 20 pence. The Society will be running the Tombola and the teas. If you have a tombola prize drop them in a 22 High Fords and any cakes can be gratefully receive on the day of the Fete.

The Church will have a cakes for sale stall and also a “Bitz and Pieces” stall . So if you are clearing out something it might be the just the thing for somebody else. The money will help restore the 900 year old Parish Church tower.
