Imogen aims for Parliament

TEENAGE campaigner Imogen Moore who has championed the cause of Uckfield skateboarders for some time now has her sights fixed on a seat in the national youth parliament.

Imogen, 14, who lives at Woodlands Close in Uckfield and attends the town's community technology college, reckons competition will be tough for a place on the parliament representing Lewes and Upper Wealden but is undaunted.

She enjoys a challenge and on behalf of her skateboarding friends organised a petition to the town council asking for better provision for them. More recently she has become involved in the Uckfield Youth Trust which is working with a variety of organisations to improve facilities for young people.

But Imogen, who lives with her mother Margaret McKeon and brother Nathan, 11, does not see her long term future in politics. She would like to be an actress and is a member of the Uckfield Youth Theatre and dances with the Rennie Dance Academy. Other interests include art, Ska music and fashion.

Polling for the election will take place at the Uckfield Youth Centre, in Downsview Crescent, between February 10 and 15 and all residents of Lewes and Upper Wealden aged between 11 and 18 are eligible to vote.
