Izzy loses her long hair for charity

A six year old from Southgate has raised £648 by having her long hair cut short.

Izzy has donated 13 inches of hair, as well as her sponsorship money, to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness or medical treatment.

Proud mum Kelly Hearn told the Obby: “Up until a couple of months ago she didn’t even want a trim, as she wanted to be Rapunzel, like a lot of little girls.

“Then she heard about the Little Princess Trust through her Aunty, and Izzy then watched some videos and read about the charity. She decided she wanted to help.

“I was sure she would change her mind, so held off opening the Justgiving page and making the appointment!

“But she was adamant and said: ‘My hair will grow again mummy, I want to help children that have no hair.’”

The cut was carried out by Aaron Russel hair salon.

“They very kindly donated the hair cut, and treated her like a princess,” said Kelly.

“Izzy looks beautiful with her new short bob and we are so very proud of her.”
