Jewellery and cash were stolen during a house burglary at the weekend, Sussex Police has said.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place in Holtye Road, East Grinstead, between 8.45am and 12.15pm on Saturday morning (August 15).

An intruder broke in through a front door and made an untidy search of the house before stealing jewellery and a small amount of cash, police said.

Police said the A264 Holtye Road is a busy route in and out of East Grinstead and it may be that someone noticed something out of the ordinary that may assist detectives.

If so, they are asked to email or phone 101, quoting serial 701 of 15/8.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
