JJ Whispers nightclub to close

The club will close on Thursday (February 20) with a final party.

Director Marc Simpson said the premises had been sold but was not able to say who the new owner would be.

In January, Sussex Police called for the club’s licence to be revoked, citing incidents of drunkenness and violence.

Speaking at the time, director John Stewart Simpson said: “The allegations are totally unfounded and this application will be vigorously defended.”
